Good news for Mac, who got the job. Hooray for you!
Bad news for me, who knocked out her temporary crown, and now I have to go to the dentist - the most feared place in the world.
Break out the xanax....
Oh my God.
There's a new restaurant coming to my neighborhood. Excellent!
The other Black Bear location - right by the lake - is better anyway. If the sun
ever shines again, it would be nice to go for a stroll around the lake.
Hope your work week ends on a good note... I'm just glad I lived thru this one! Have a most excellent day.
Boo!
I found this on Lileks this morning.
And yes, I spit coffee onto my monitor. Thank you, James.
Whoo Hoo! Bennett's back!
The tattoo shop will open soon. And who is coming with me? Anyone? Anyone?
Longest. Week. Ever. Sheesh - used to be 11:30 pm was the middle of the day for me. Now I'm tired all the time. I start to wonder why... and then I remember that I spent about 3 months earlier this year
pumping chemicals into my body on a daily basis (but I currently have a clean bill of health, thank you very much). It really did take
a lot out of me, more than I'm willing to admit sometimes. So when I start to nod off while on the phone at 9:30 - sorry about that! - don't
take it personally.
Ciao.
I can't imagine what it would be like to have vast sections of your state on fire. Check out this map.
Beware the solar flares!
The Lunch Lady Lottery Winners aren't going to quit their jobs. If I won, oh yeah, you betcha I'd quit. I wouldn't even
call in to quit. I'd just wave goodbye on TV.
What the hell is wrong with people? Leave the cemeteries alone.
Friday is Halloween. Never a big hoopla for me, I just never understood it. When I was a kid, I didn't like walking around in the dark,
with your big winter coat on under your fairy princess costume (so you looked like some kind of weird, stay-puffed-marshmallow-man princess). There were a couple of fun years.
Sis2 and I went as nuns one year, and the time I was a cocktail waitress (complete with fishnets and stilletos) when I was assistant manager at the craft store. Otherwise, I just
never saw the point of it all. Too many years of Catholic school? Perhaps.
Shout out to DadM. I'm thinking of you..
Have an excellent day. Ciao.
RIP Rod Roddy... and
come on down!
At last - a sporting competition at which
even I could excel!
The Lunch Ladies won the lottery! This is a great story.
I don't think we're gonna get Gaborik.
It's promising to turn into another wild week at work. This project is taking every single second of my time... and it's supposed to be
about 1/3 of my job. I've promised myself that tomorrow I'm not even going to look at a floorplan, and I'll just shut my
door and do all the other things that I'm supposed to be doing like, say, paying the bills and running the office. It's hard to
strike a balance. But hey - if I wasn't doing this, I'd be doing something else, right? And, as of press time, I still haven't let
it make me personally insane. I've turned a corner in that regard.. I no longer let my job take over the rest of my 'real'
life. Now - talk to me next February and let's see if that's still true.
Ciao, bellas. Have a good day.
Oh my gosh. Southern California is on fire.
Two words for this couple: death penalty.
In the world of chele, you are never, ever allowed to hurt a child. ever.
The Wild are moving in the right direction. Now,
let's go get Marian...
The Vikings lost. Now, before we get all pissy about it,
let's remember what Mike Tice said last night: "Only my mother thought we'd go 16-0". He also said "When you play like a team that's starting to believe what everyone is saying about you," Tice said, "that's what you get. . . . That's on me because I didn't have the guys ready to play at a winning level today."
What a refreshing difference from Dennis Green. I'll stick with this team, through wins and losses. Plus I think Michael Bennett will come back next week, and
I think he's just so cute :)
It looks like people are moving into this new development. But it looks like it's IN the floodplain.
I've lived down here for 10 years - I've seen that very piece of ground flooded out twice. They're saying that they've trucked in extra dirt to raise it above the floodplain. What if
the water goes higher than the highest point?
Simon & Garfunkel played at Xcel last night. Lots of people there.. at first I thought
it was a hockey game.. only the people were too dressed up (no jerseys). And they're both 62 years old. Hard to believe..
Ciao, Bellas. Have an excellent day.
Heat's on. Winter Jammies - on. Snow flurries last night (see post below). Can't believe it!
Really, don't ask me what I did last night. (I kid! I kid!)
I'd almost forgotten all about Rosie.
Not much in the news i want to talk about. Today has to be the domestic day... I got a little sidetracked yesterday :)
So it's cleaning (during the game, of course) and some errands and stuff. Hope your day is excellent as well.
Weather Update
Just so you know - it is snowing.
Welcome to Winter.
Up rather late last night, watching all the "I Love the 80s" that were TiVo'd so far. Before that, we went to the Apple Store because they released the new
operating system. Little did we realize what a huge deal this was. The first time we got there, the line was down the hall, around the corner and
into the theater! The second time back, it was considerably shorter. When we finally got inside, I said "It's like a geek mixer. Look around - We
are easily the coolest people in the room!" (maybe you had to be there...) Anyway - I'm now leaning toward an e-mac rather than an i-book. Just after
the first of the year, I think.
I somehow just can't believe that life is completely back to normal for Elizabeth Smart.
How do you go through and ordeal like that and emerge unchanged? I hope they get her some counseling.
The Wild needed a win - 4-3 over Florida.
Well, duh! Of course coffee has its benefits. It's how I exist on virtually
zero sleep during the work week.
Not much else in the news today. It will be a day of domesticity today, and I'll save the erranding
til tomorrow. Let me know what you're up to.
Ciao.
Well, I'm up. Vertical, not horizontal anymore. More. Coffee. Now.
Wal-Mart says it didn't know
about its workers' illegal status.
Check out this headline. Yeah, she causes me stress, too.
This is no
surprise at all. But South Park the other night? Funniest in a long, long time!
Here it is: More about paper towel marketing than I ever wanted to know.
I'm beginning to think that Police Chief's son was at fault here. And then, no more policin' for him.
I'm out! Ciao, Bellas.
We're not even going to discuss why I'm up at this hour. But I have to be. I've learned, though, that the 4:00 am hour is
the best time to listen to KQ - Dobie Gray, The Who, Led Zeppelin... it's like a
little reward for having to get up before GOD is even awake...
RIP Rerun.. As Mac said,
hard to believe a health-nut like that would kick off early.
This story just gets sadder and sadder. Like I
said yesterday - make sure everyone knows your wishes VERY clearly. (of course, some people I know would like the chance to pull the plug
on me right now! heh heh..)
Gee, let's guess how Friends might end.
I read that this woman who threw her babies off the bridge on July 4th is competent to stand trial.
Good.
Bill Carlson, one of the hometown boys, is back on WCCO.
Ciao -
The best thing in the world: the first sip of coffee in the morning. Ahhhhhhh.
This is why everyone needs to have a living will.
And why you need to tell everyone exactly what your wishes are. When I did mine a couple of years back it felt a little odd and
creepy at the time - but I know with absolute certainty that everyone will know exactly what my wishes are. And the most important
thing is to have someone you trust with - literally - your life execute it. It was one of the most grown-up things I've ever done - right behind buying
"real" furniture!
There are so many things wrong with this story. Five Weeks?!? And they
never found any of this stuff?? I don't want to fly ever again...
Oy. The Wild are struggling this year.
This family has more than issues. They have the whole damn subscription.
I don't know about this.. There seem to be an awful lot of witness that would testify otherwise.
She killed two people, and nothing is done about. AND I bet she still drives. Note to self - wait until you're
an old woman, then pretty much do whatever you want, because there are no consequences.
But according to the Pioneer Press, she'll be charged with two lesser counts. This is why you
have to read both papers in this city.
Have a great day - Ciao, Peoples.
This guy wants to represent himself
at trial. That's a GREAT idea! It'll help us convict you just a little faster.
What do you make of this? Did Princess Di predict
her own death? Was it all a vast conspiracy? (I said that for your benefit, CuzGirl...)
Thank God - I'll sleep better tonight knowing that
there will indeed be a "George of the Jungle 2".
Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you Oliverbot - Your new friend when things are boring. I am ashamed and embarassed to admit that I played with this for like
an hour last night. (link via pickle juice.)
The guy at the center of the fracas was the son of the police chief. Uh oh.
It's the end of the world. This article proves it.
Ciao, bellas!
Honest to God... if these lady bugs (or beetles or whatever they're called) don't go away soon, I'm going to - well - I don't know
what I'll do. But whatever it is, it won't be pretty.
And I just heard that it's supposed to be 80 degrees today ::sigh:: those bugs will NEVER go away.
David Blaine is out of the box.
Thing is, I'd all but forgotten that he was in the box.
The thing I like best about this story is that they use the words "fracas" and
"tasmanian devil"!
That is all. For now. Have a good day! Ciao.
The Vikings Rule!
What an excellent game. Final score: Vikings 28, Broncos 20. And I captured it all in pictures of course...
Click here to see the slideshow, and I'll keep the link under the picture pages section.
Good Ol' CuzBoy and I are going to the VIKINGS game!! We get to sit in a suite and see how the RICH people
watch football.
I am following the beatification of Mother Teresa. This is how I know that there
is some part of me that will always be Catholic.
We had this game in the bag. Zholtok's slashing penalty led to the tying
power play goal. grrrr.
It's official - giving someone the finger is not disorderly conduct. So as we speak, I am now giving all of YOU the finger! (no, no.. this is a family blog...)
The Star Tribune has a big section called remembering Paul Wellstone today. Love or hate his politics, you have to admit
he was very passionate about his beliefs, and he genuinely cared about the people he represented. But all the "what would Wellstone do" bumperstickers and the rush to
name schools, parks, and- the latest I heard - renaming Lake Calhoun after him - well, that's just a bit over-the-top. And I believe Wellstone himself would say that as well.
::stepping down off the soapbox now::
Have an excellent day. Go Vikes!
"What the Hell" of the Day
Take a look at the Washlet website and tell me
if it doesn't make you laugh and laugh!
No iTunes for chele... it won't run on my computer. How very disappointing - but this will just help me to continue
saving for the new iMac. Gotta keep looking for the bright side, you know.
So after all the fussin' around with the computer, I got to go to one of my new favorite places for dinner! Yeah, yeah.. I've got
no taste. :-)
A 20 year old college student did this to prove a point??
Now the government should put him in jail, to prove their point.
I agree with Jacques Lemaire - the Wild are "trying to play fancy" this year.
We do better when we just play simple hockey. I was afraid that getting into the playoffs last year as such an upstart would effect the way we would play this year, and it has. Back to the basics, boys.
Instead of just letting "8 Simple Rules" go, the producers seem intent on ruining it. I was
skeptical about adding James Garner. But Suzanne Pleshette too? Please...
This case just gets more and more twisted. Who to believe?
If you don't believe in miracles, read this. How else would you describe this guy's survival?
I've got a bunch of stuff to do today, so I'll get at it. More later.
I was supposed to have a massage this morning. I woke up at 6:30 to get ready for it, thought a moment, and then
decided to just cancel it and sleep in a little more. You know how tired I must be... to turn down a
massage is unheard of!
I think that this was the most stress-filled week I've ever had at my current job. Not at any job I've ever had, mind you (remember -
10+ years of retail under my belt. Nothing compares to that day-after-Thanksgiving stress!) But stressful just the same. I need a day of play,
and a day of play it shall be.
My Wild boys got put down by the Avs. As much as I loathe to admit this,
we probably ARE missing Gaborik and Dupuis.
And check out the new Wild jersey:

Kind of a retro thing. Maybe it'll grow on me.
Simon and Garfunkel are playing
here on the 26th and 27th. But with ticket prices ranging from $50 - $250... well, I think I'll just listen to some CDs.
OR download some S&G from iTunes! Yes, folks, it has arrived. iTunes for Windows! do you have
any idea at all how dangerous it will be for me to have direct access to iTunes from home?? It will be the responsibility of each of you to
periodically monitor my iTunes spending.
The investigation into the Staten Island Ferry crash continues.
8 Simple Rules will go on, with James Garner (?!?!) as
the grandfather. Hmmm. Jury's still out on that one.
I just don't even know what to think about this.
If it's true, the officers should be fired and sent to jail. If it's not true, the guy making these accusations should be locked up.
All righty, then. I'm going to read a little more and then - well - do NOTHING for a morning. Why? Because I can! (or, as CuzGirl would say,
because I suck for having the day off! Bwah ha, girl! I have the day off and you don't!)
Have an excellent day. Ciao, Bellas.
One more day of work... just one more day. It's all about fighting over space right now, and it isn't pretty. I know it's effecting
my mood there. In fact, we had cake yesterday for someone's birthday and I ran in quickly to get a piece. The person in the next office
said "Well, that's the first time I've seen you smile in days", and he's probably right. It's all getting to me. So good thing tomorrow
is a play day.
Good God. The Staten Island Ferry crashed!
More on Joan of Arcadia, my favorite new show.
Well, doesn't this from Pizza Hut sound delicious? - er, or
NOT so much...
What an idiot. This guy has to move out of Chicago now. And I didn't
realize this but oh my God - they've published his name?! Yep. Start moving.
So that's what I know. Ciao.
Sometimes, after a long hard day, you just gotta go to Matt's for a Jucy Lucy and
a beer (or two). So that's what we did.
Pope-watch 2003 continues.. He's really slipping now.
Patrick Stewart is available! That is one good-lookin' bald guy!
C'mon, Marian. Sign, don't sign... just get ON with it. And if you don't sign - well - we'll be just FINE without ya.
Hmmmm, what do you make of this? Did she try to run him down on purpose? And you've just gotta hope that this doesn't
get in the way of the continuing investigation into the disappearance of the little girl.
Lesson learned yesterday: For better or for worse - I get paid the same, no matter what I do. So I can draw and re-draw the floor plan
eleventy-hundred times, and it just doesn't matter. That should make it all a little easier to take. You have an excellent day, and I'll try to at least
have an adequate one. Ciao.
1 in 50 Americans are morbidly obese... and they all
attend the Minnesota State Fair! (bwah ha! thank you! I'll be here all week!)
This man has an incredible attitude.. and he IS a very lucky guy.
It'll be great to have Daunte back this Sunday. Oh, and guess who's going to the game? That's right - ME!
The grocery workers are on strike in California.
If a tattoo parlor opened on Grand Avenue, I'd be their first customer! I've
been wanting to get another one for a long time. Who's going with me? C'mon! Anyone?
Have a most excellent day. Ciao, Bellas!
Yeah - I've still got nothin'. So here's a picture (taken at Westwood)

Can you spot the deer?
Sleep well.
I got nothin' for you today! Not yet, anyway. Today is day one of the new medicine, and I'm all sleep-hungover and yucky (that's
the medical term for it: yucky). I'm gonna give it a fair shot, but if it makes me feel this way every day - well - then it'll be
time for plan C. This is why I stopped taking the other stuff in the first place.. eh. enough complaining.
More later. I promise.
Yesterday wouldn't have been good for taking pictures off the tower. too rainy. Today, however is beautiful and
sunny. That will definitely be on the agenda.
This guy was being housed in the "totally unsecure
prison". He popped the glass out of a window?! Hell, he should have just gone around and checked the doors... maybe a couple of those
were unlocked, too.
Drum roll please - here it is: it's the gayest headline ever! (and you know that
I say that with all best humor, guys...!)
Watch out! They're cracking down on you bad-driving scofflaws. The other
night on the way home there were two cops parked at the end of the carpool ramp to get on I94 east. They nabbed 2 people while I was waiting at the meter light, and I
applauded them as I drove past. Everyone has to play by the rules (yes, I said RULES, Mare!)
That's it! go out and enjoy the day....
This was my lesson learned in regard to the move project at work. If Jesus Christ Himself came down off the
cross and, with his own mighty hand, drew these plans to the exacting specifications of every single person
in the entire company - they would still find something wrong with it. I will never please everyone, so
I've given up on trying to please anyone. It is what it is. I have a finite amount of time, space, and dollars with
which to work, so here's the space plan. Work within your areas. Your input, while fascinating, is irrelevant.
Once I got myself to that point, my headache went away. I am not doing one thing related to work
all weekend. I am getting my haircut and then we're going to play in the afternoon and go out for fabulous and
fun dinner!
And now for the news:
What a great hockey game! We were down
3-1 at one point, and came back to win it 5-3.
I think we all saw this coming, after
the allegations made by the housekeeper. Well, good for him. If you need help, avail yourself of it.
Did you catch Gray Davis on Letterman last night? He read the
top ten list.. The top 10 pieces of advice Gray Davis had for Governor Ahhhhnold. The number one? "It's pronounced CAL-I-FORN-I-A".
Interesting article here. I believe it.
No riots last night after the Gophers lost to Michigan.
One wonders if the outcome would have been the same had we won. So maybe that's the secret. Lose every game. Oh wait, that's not right....
Cold Spring has to grieve all over again now that the second boy
who was shot has died.
I thought the lady bugs were gone yesterday, but oh no.. although
I only had to vacuum up 3 or 4 last night. Who'd have ever thought we'd be praying for the next big freeze?
We might have to climb the water tower today! If we do, there
will be pictures.
This is a funny, accurate portrayal of some local restaurants.
Well - how's THAT for a lot of stuff for ya? On to start the day. Ciao.
I heard this on the radio on the way to work yesterday. I nearly drove
off the road. ::hyperventilating:: i have NO words. except this: what is WRONG with these people????
I swear to God...if there's a riot after the game tonight it's time to just shut the U down! (well, yeah,
they can't do that. but still).
Good news.. Thank God for all the researchers.
It's been a long week. I've learned that trying to get consensus from 300+ people is impossible, and I'm just accepting the fact
that by the time this whole move is done about 50% of our employees will really like me and the other 50% - not so much. It comes with the job.
People have very little control over what they DO at work all day.. who their boss is, what department they're in, their workload, etc. The one
thing they feel that they DO have control over is the place that they sit. And then I come along and tell them "Okay, you're moving now". Some folks
take it very personally - like I'm doing this because I hate them or I've just decided to piss 'em off just because I can.
It isn't that at all. This is my job. I do what the bosses tell me to do, move where they tell me to move. But I've had people literally get
all up-in-my-face (complete with the finger shaking!) and tell me that they REFUSE to do this, that it's completely unacceptable..blah blah. Get over it. You're moving.
You'll find it more difficult to work when I come and take your furniture away ::shaking my head::
Have an excellent day.
Oh man, that's SO funny. Hilarity ensues.
No time to panic yet. It's only the first game of the season.. (that's what
I keep telling myself, anyway). And notice how they had only 13,000 people at the game. The Wild routinely sell out
the 18,000+ seat Xcel Center.
Lesson for today: Leave the bears alone, or this is what will happen to you. Gruesome.
And yes, CuzGirl and I bought lots of clothes (well she did - I was mostly along to just provide annoying, sarcastic commentary).
That's all for now. Ciao, Bellas.
Ahhrnold is now the
governor of California. We didn't have a great experience with a celebrity politician. Let's hope they
fare a little better.
Check out the preview of Northwest Division Hockey here. You'll
dazzle people with your great hockey knowledge (and I'll think you're super cool...)
This man. was raising. a tiger. in his apartment. WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE??
Issy-Cat weighs 22 pounds and he's almost too big to be living in here. ::commence moment of sarcasm:: It'd be so easy to raise a 425 pound TIGER
in an apartment ::end moment of sarcasm::
Whoo Hoo! Hockey starts tonight!
The invasion of the lady bugs continues. EEEEK! I'm
just leaving the vacuum cleaner out now. I've vacuumed up dozens in the house. Right now I only see just one up on the ceiling..but I KNOW there
are others just lurking in corners. I can't leave the windows open during these - the last nice days of fall - because then there'd be thousands
of them in here. Please, God! Bring on the next hard freeze! (and note how the article says that their worse on
south and west facing windows. then note the direction in which my windows face. then note that I'm screwed!)
CuzGirl and I are going on a shopping expedition tonight. Much apparel will be purchased. (well for her, anyway..) Although I did spend
time this weekend cleaning out the closets and getting rid of my "fat" clothes. Funny - it was fairly easy to lose the 60+ pounds... it's
much harder to give up the clothes. It means that I'm now committed to keeping the weight off! I don't think that
will be a problem. I've learned (even without the WW propaganda) that it was really more about changing the way I deal with food than with the
actual calorie counting itself. The whole "lifestyle change" thing. Or whatever.
Ugh. I have to go after some more lady bugs now. Excellent days to you.
Uh oh - it's not looking good for Roy.
This story makes me want to cry, too... but
not in a GOOD way - in a bad "oh my God what is wrong with the world" way.
More about the stupid jerks rioting in Mankato. On the news last night, they
started talking about maybe pulling financial aid from kids who are criminally charged. Good. Why fund dumb-ass behavior? (oooh, i get SO very
crabby about this stuff...)
Scrapbooking (is that even a WORD?) was just starting to
take off as we lost our stores. Now it's huge. I've wanted to start, but really, do I NEED another way to spend money?
The Lady Bugs are here, and they're kinda freakin' me out. There were
dozens of them on my patio doors, and they can squeeze in through the cracks around the windows. EEEEK! Now, I like them when they are
just cute and crawling along outside.. when they're inside and flying around, they're just creepy. I vacuumed up about 10 of them before
I went to bed last night. ::shudders:: yuck.
Ciao.
How 'bout those Vikings?!? Whoo Hoo! What a
great game!
Wow - maybe this is the end of the Siegfried and Roy Show at The Mirage.
It's the end of an era.
ABC is going to try to carry on with "8 Simple Rules" without John Ritter. I just don't
see how that's going to work.
Oh for the Love of God. Another riot - this time at
Minnesota State University in Mankato. Just shut 'em down. (yes, not practical. but what the hell is WRONG with those kids? Oh my God...
I've turned into my mother....)
WomenVenture is worth saving. They're a great resource
for women - they helped me some years ago.
This story will make you cry. Proof that there are
angels that walk among us.
Ciao.
Game Recap, and a PSA
Yikes! This Vikings game is giving me a heart attack!
I thought it was appropriate to change the cheleblog background color... October IS breast cancer awareness month.
I can't over-emphasize the need to do self-exams regularly. That's the way you catch cancer in its earliest
stages, when it's most treatable. And, if you haven't already had one this year, schedule a mammogram (or make
the woman you love schedule one). The life you save WILL be your own. Trust me on that one, folks!
We're ahead 27-20.. I've gotta get back to the game. This has been your public service announcement
for the month.
Take care of YOU.
What's wrong with me? Why am I up at 6:00 on a Sunday morning?
Show of hands - who thinks that this was just a just a big, fake publicity stunt?
More stories about the crazy lady.
Another show of hands - who watched this show on Saturday? Uh Huh... that's what I thought.
Is it just me, or does she look like Skeletor?
That can be all. For now. Maybe more after the game today.
No Purple People Eatery yet. In fact, it doesn't even look CLOSE to ready. So we did a little shopping and
then, highlight of my week thus far: I got to see Godzilla vs. Mothra, a
cinematic masterpiece!
Eeek! Roy (of Siegfried and Roy) was attacked by a tiger!
The Wild are doing just okay in the pre-season. We're second in our division, but
this time last year we were first (and undefeated). Regular season hockey starts this week! Whoo Hoo!
Not a surprise at all.
Quick! Set your TiVo. Or, rather, don't set your TiVo. Why oh
why won't he just go away?
There are about one million things that are wrong with what happened here. The father of the
baby is 22?!? and her boyfriend?!? started a relationship with her when she was 12-1/2?!? and living with the family?!? and they didn't know she was pregnant?!? OY.
I just can't take it....
The Twin Cities Marathon is this weekend. A cool event, but I always seem
to somehow end up trapped by streets that are blocked off, making me late to whatever my destination might be. This year, I'll do all my erranding today
so that I can avoid it altogether.
Look for another high scoring, fun-to-watch Vikings football game tomorrow.
Enough, already! Time to get started on the errands. Here's to an excellent day for all. Ciao.
Once you get way up north, it's a little like the wild west. It's a whole
different world up there..
This is what happens when babies have babies. oy.
They've started getting ready for the Winter Carnival Ice Palace! It's right
across from the Xcel Center. I love my city.
Oh no! First Avenue just can't close.
So ER last night. Eh. Maybe because it's been on for so long. Maybe it's because they've
done just about everything to poor John Carter (drug problem, stabbed, older woman, younger woman, gamma dies, bad relationship with father, bad realtionship
with mother.... the only thing they haven't done to him yet is make him gay or lop off his arm. Oh wait. They did that to other characters...). I just don't care about this show or these characters anymore. I watch it
more out of habit than anything else. I've taken to TiVo-ing it so I can fast forward through the parts I'm especially bored with. And now they're going to
leave Carter in Africa for a while? Please. Give me a break. There must be something else to watch on Thursday nights. Or wait. There's that reading
thing I've heard so much about. ::smile::
It's off to the Mall tonight! Going to see if the Purple People Eatery is open yet, and
I just bet there'll be a trip to the Apple Store on the itinerary as well. A girl needs a place to
go dream...
Ciao, Bellas.
Boys! Halle Berry is available!
I don't usually just lift stuff from other people's blogs (I'm more the linkin'-type girl), but this from Mitch Berg's Shot in the Dark made me laugh and
spit coffee all over my monitor. (thanks, Mitch!)
One late-winter day, during the 1994 Winter Olympics, I went out in the back yard with my daughter, then two years old.
She toddled over to a spot of glare ice by the garage, and as I watched perplexed, began spinning maniacally in tight circles.
"Daddy!", she yelled. "Daddy! Satan!"
Huh?
"Daddy! Satan!" She whirled about in a half a dozen more tight, frenzied circles.
"Satan, Daddy, Satan!"
I expected the green-pea soup vomit...
...when I remembered she'd been watching skating with her mother.
SKAY-ting, not SAY-tan.
Nothing seemed so bad after that.
This makes me absolutely crazy. I'll say it again: Mothers, if you
