It was a little tougher to get up this morning.
I'm sick of politics and the conventions. Enough! Would it be bad to write-in a vote for Issy?
So now he's not going to sue the governor of NJ. Get him to resign, ruin his marriage and his career...yeah. That's enough for one day. Your work here is done.
Vinnie Testaverde looked pretty darn good for a 40-year-old Quarterback last night.
Is this really cool, or really creepy? When I go, do I want one of ya wearing me on your finger?!?
Well, yikes. A car hit Savoy Pizza again. Every couple of years someone does that. We were just there.
Wanna feel old? Read this list. It's sad that today's college freshmen have never eaten a McSub and never flown on People's Express.
I came back yesterday to about 300 e-mails, and a few dozen voicemail messages. Worked my way through about half of them. We had a nice breakfast meeting/award presentation for all those that worked on the move project... and I think now we can consider it a done deal, exactly one year after it all started. Whew. Let's not do that again any time soon.
Ciao.
Oh, my. This is very, very early. It's the first day back at work, and there's a breakfast meeting thing that I'm in charge of. I guess it's a good thing to have to be up this early... for the rest of the week, I'll feel like I'm sleeping late!
A few quick items of note:
RIP Laura Branigan. And PSA for everyone - if you have a severe headache for two weeks for God's sake - go to the doctor.
I saw this earlier this weekend - Jimmy Smits is going to be on 'West Wing'. WhooHoo! He's a man-babe. I'd watch anyway.. but now I'll watch even MORE!
Who's gonna watch the Jane Pauley Show? (ok, yeah, I might watch the first couple.. just to see what it's like).
Better go have more coffee now, and try to remember how to get ready for a work day. Ciao.
I'm in a much better mood today. Why? Because I went to the FAIR again yesterday, and it was sunny and warmer and Dame! and I ate our way through the entire day. I took pictures, and you should go take a look at them right here.
SWEATER UPDATE!

It's done. It's fabulous and WARM and great and... wow, I'm just glad to be done with it. The next project is gonna be a bright color. But it IS very nice, dontcha think?
The fair was very wet and rainy and my legs and shoulders are sore from carrying the cats downstairs yesterday and I'm really just quite crabby right now. So I'll write a little later, after I've taken my happiness pill. Or something. Ciao.
The f*#%ing FIRE ALARMS just went off again. That's it. I'm starting an official "days until I buy my own house" calendar. View or not, I'm f'ing SICK and TIRED of walking down 18 floors while carrying 20 pounds of kitty-cats.
And did I mention how the water's shut off? So now I'm all sweated up with no option to shower.
I hate this place sometimes....
The boat ride was fun.. and what we learned is that I am genetically unable to say "boat" - it ends up sounding like "booooooat" every time. I say other words like a normal person.. (well, except for "sauna", which comes out "sauuuuna"). It's the tiny bit of Iron-Ranger in me.
CuzGirl and I are making our annual pilgrimage to the STATE FAIR today! It's opening day, so we'll be there before everything is all dirty and grungy. Pictures will be taken, of course.
Which reminds me of the fact that cheleblog is one year old now.. The first pictures that I posted on here were of the fair last year. It might be time for a site re-design. Oh, Mac.....(notice how I will start sucking up now).
I had to get up early to shower-water is off in my building today from 9:00-3:00 (they must be working on the laundry room) - and showering before coffee just throws off my whole morning rhythm! I haven't read the news yet, so I've nothing to say about it.
OH! Call on Me! ::raising & waving hands::

The second sleeve is done. Now I have to sew them on and make the collar. whoo hoo!
Have a fair day (get it? heh heh). Ciao, Bellas.
Good morning, and what can I tell ya?
1. Enough with the Star Wars, already. Know when to say when.
2. Well thank God for that. I don't wanna see it.
3. I wish I would have stayed awake to watch Kerry on the Daily Show.
4. AKA "not quite so good as Friends".
5. Eeek! Locusts! One wonders if there was a divine hand in that somewhere...
6. RIP Elisabeth Kubler-Ross.
7. My house stays much neater if I just pick up a little bit every day, instead of saving it all up!
8. My kitties are now totally paranoid about sirens (as am I). I've lived here for 10 years, and the fire alarms have gone off five times. Four of those times have been in the last six months. I have to shut the bedroom door when I hear sirens, because the cats go diving for under-the-bed. Then if we DO have to go downstairs, I can't get them out. Did I mention how I'm going to buy my own place?? Somedays, it can't come soon enough.
9. We're going on a dinner cruise on the lake, courtesy of one of my great vendors. Free food and drinks on the lake... whoo hoo! doesn't get better than that...
10. That's what I got! Have a great day. Ciao.
I am now officially, completely in vacation mode. This is what my life would be like every day if I were to win the lottery... and it's not half bad! Yesterday while out and about, I had to buy the most adorable Hello Kitty Sneakers ever, and also a very cute pair of Mary Jane's. Ahh, the joys of having freakishly tiny feet.
Oh God help me.
Hurrah - the New U2 album comes out just before my birthday - in case any of ya want to do some pre-ordering on Amazon...
Alan Alda is joining the cast of "The West Wing". This show is one of my very favorite must-sees, but last year was really weak. Let's see what he can do to turn it around.
My boyfriend John Stamos is available once again. I know that THIS time he'll come calling at my door. Any minute now. Yep. Just gonna sit home and wait for him to come get me....(if y'all never hear from me again, this is why)
Show of hands: remember Anne Heche's fifteen minutes of fame? Nope. Neither do I.
Well, yikes. A few first day of school jitters or what?
Stop stealing underwear Dame! - er - Leroy! (sorry Dame. You don't do that anymore, right? heh heh heh....see how I am?)
I knew if I wrote long enough that the sun would come out! I'm going to enjoy the day now. You do the same. Ciao.
I got up so I could enjoy a little coffee before heading out on all the erranding, and I wasn't gonna post anything this morning. But this petition (link via Freakgirl) is really good.
Gotta run. Ciao.
It was a cool day of doing NOTHING, which is what vacation is supposed to be about, correct? Yesterday I was introduced to the fabulous world of Madden 2005. Oh my God. If I had that on my computer, I'd never leave the house. It's a good thing that I'd have to drive across town every time I want to play. I did, however, have to feed my Sims addiction a bit. I just bought the Sims Hot Date
expansion pack. I don't even have a good justification. I just wanted it!
Tomorrow morning I've gotta get HelloKitty Saturn in for an oil change, and then I've got massage and lunch planned - be very jealous of me! Have a good day. Ciao.
I fell asleep at about 9:30 last night. Those who know me know how unusual that is. It's the equivalent of a normal person going to bed at, say, 4:30 in the afternoon. I think this vacation could not have come at a better time. Now I'm up bright and early, it's a gorgeous day, and it's time to look at the news.
Lemme ask you this. What mother in her right mind would allow a child to visit Michael Jackson's house? After she testifies against him, they should maybe lock her up for a while, too.
Sorry - that would be Wacko Jacko's house.
Have you been following the possible sale of the Vikings to Reggie Fowler? He's a mystery man. But it sounds like he'd keep the team in MN, which is all I really care about.. since it's looking more and more like we won't have much of a hockey season this year.
And all I have to say to Onterrio Smith is: KNOCK IT OFF. Just play football. Stop with the geef already.
I thought Jack LaLanne was - er- dead. Turns out he's alive and kicking at age 89. Take a look at his picture. He's in great shape. He looks better than ANY of you guys (heh heh)!
I don't know... do you think you've crossed a line when you write an obituary for your pet? Not that I'm crazy-cat-lady, but I know how hard it will be when Maddy-Girl and Issy-Cat die. Of course, they'll both probably outlive me, and then they'll be CuzGirl's problem!
Please, Jesse, just retire. Shhhh. Go home now.
Have a great day! Ciao.
Oh, so THIS is what Friday mornings look like. I'd almost forgotten...
Reason number 2,742 why the catholic church is the meanest in the world.
Hello-Kitty Saturn gets 32 miles per gallon consistently. And that's not just the Saturn-chip-in-my-head talking... it really does. I remember the first time filled up the evil-Blazer - It was $30, and I got about 22 miles a gallon. I knew at that moment that I"d made a HUGE mistake. I've never owned a vehicle for a shorter period of time... it wasn't even 2 years.
This is some kooky religion. Or else he's just a crazy man.
"He has to be good at something". Dad's just busting a button with pride, isn't he? It's good for kids to have goals.
Vacation officially starts at 5:00 (or whatever time I decide to leave work) today! whoo hoo! People keep asking me if I'm going anywhere. I always answer that, more importantly, I'm not going to work. I need a big break from work. I need days and days to just not think about the place. I looked at the iCal, and there are only FUN activities on it (well, except for the oil change, but that's just a necessity). And yes, Mare, I'll still blog everyday. I just won't be as crabby! :) Ciao, Bellas. Have a good day.
First things first: sleeve #1:

Isn't it nice that all our teens are turning into thugs? This is why I have cats and not children.
I like Oprah - I really do. But sometimes she tries too hard to be like all the 'little people'. You're a bazillionaire! good for you! One of the lines in this article sums it up: she says "It's a huge reality check, there's a whole other world going on out there..." Yep, that's right. We aren't all living the high life.
Thank God - we can all sleep tonight: Paris Hilton's Chihuahua has been found.
You can do whatever you want, RealNetworks, but Real Player still sucks. Gimme my iTunes any day.
This 95 year old woman is my hero. I wanna ride a Harley on my 95th birthday, too.
Okay. NOW I've heard it all. And no, Maddy, Issy and I won't be dining out any time soon.
I love the Onion.
Have an excellent day. Ciao.
The first e-mail I opened this morning was from Amazon.com, advertising this book. Heh! Is it an omen of the day to come?
Uh oh. It looks like there's gonna be a lockout this year. There goes half my hockey season.
One wonders if he would "feel married" to this girl if she WASN'T a billionaire. Gee.. I think I feel married to her, too. Can I have some cash now, please?
Last night consisting of knitting and sitting. Good for getting the sweater closer-to-done, but a little hard on the back. We decided that we should knit little cushions for the chairs at the coffee shop. I'm a little nervous, because this sleeve looks SO long. Then they all remind me that the name of the sweater I'm making is "Big Sack Sweater", not "Incredibly Tiny Sweater"- so it's okay for it to be a little oversized.
And holy crap - in the last 14 days, I've added 114 songs to my iTunes library. Now, before you get all lecture-y on me, I only BOUGHT 7 of those - the rest are from Mac's vast CD collection. As I scan through the titles, I can only conclude that I am, indeed, schizophrenic in my musical taste: Henry Mancini's Moon River, Judas Priest's Living After Midnight, Sman's C'est La Vie, The Cars' Bye Bye Love (Demo version), Bjork's Oceania, and Little River Band's Cool Change all live together in harmony on my iPod. The iPod which is gonna be full to capacity in about 2 months. Who wants to buy me a new one for my birthday? :) (heh. can't hurt to start asking now, right??)
Have a great day. Ciao.
Good Morning ::yawn::
I was up too late. The Monday night pre-season game was a bit of a yawner - but hey - STILL football! The one to watch on the Seahawks is Seneca Wallace. He's a fourth-string quarterback.. but looked REALLY good.
Oh. My. God. Scott Peterson is psycho, isn't he? Yeah, I murdered my wife, but hey - you can trust me! Ewww. Ewww. Ewww.
Oprah's on a jury. If I was guilty, I wouldn't want her on my jury! She is pretty opinionated...
Speaking of which - wouldn't it be great if she could be on Michael Jackson's jury?
This is cool. I want an Italian area code.
You know - this isn't gonna help. When I was a kid, my mom only made us drink 7Up when we were sick.. so I've always associated it with throwing up. Together: ewww. ewww. ewww.
Hey! maybe St. Paul cable isn't the worst after all. We're getting the NFL Network!
Hmm. My internet connection appears to be a bit spotty this morning. I think I'm gonna get this uploaded before it goes down completely. Gonna knit tonight, and that's all the news! Ciao, Bellas.
I've been a busy girl all weekend! Had to do a little shopping, a little eating, too-little cleaning (you can always do more), a little visiting. I even watched a little bit of the Olympics. Who'd believe it? And now I have to work five whole days in a row. If I can overcome this seemingly insurmountable task, though, I get to have five whole days OFF next week! I'm not stupid in my vacation scheduling.
First things first: We've got FOOTBALL, ladies and gents! The Vikings made easy work of the Cardinals. Yeah, yeah, it's pre-season, it doesn't mean anything, blah blah blah. That's not the point. The point is it's football! Mewelde Moore is going to be fun to watch. They all are.
Show of hands: anyone care that the less-famous Hilton sister got married this weekend? Uh-Huh. That's what I thought.
I missed it on the weekend: RIP Julia Child. And there you have the trifecta: Julia, Rick James, Fay Wray. Is it wrong that I'd forgotten that any of them were still alive?
Yes, I did watch some Olympic events (it's Dad-M's fault. He was watching volleyball on Saturday, and I saw it. There ya have it. 40-year streak broken!) I didn't, however, watch any of the opening ceremony hoopla. I heard it was a little out-there. Bjork was there. I coulda told ya that would happen.
Hmmm. The NJ Governor thing just goes on and on. He's gay, but the guy with whom he had the affair is NOT gay? Okay, then.
Send out thoughts and prayers to Floridians affected by Hurricane Charley - and while you're at it, send them some cash, too. You can even donate online. Go ahead, do it now. I'll wait 'til you get back.
:::waiting:::
Thanks for doing that.
Have a great day. Ciao.
Be very jealous of me now.. In just a little while, I get to have lunch at Benihana! Yeehaw! And then I'm going to have the oil changed in Hello Kitty Saturn.
Speaking of HKSaturn.. Danny at the Garage ROCKS. (ooh! using a real name and everything!) He washed, buffed, waxed, re-buffed and used the touch-up paint on my car.. and it's ALL BETTER. It has one tiny scratch, which I can live with. It's like a battle scar. I have to buy him a fabulous present.
This is terrible, and oh-so mean. We were just kidding - you aren't really married and don't deserve the same rights as the rest of us. Again, someone needs to explain to me how two people of the same sex getting married is a threat to two people of different sexes getting married. If Fly-Boy & Roxy got married tomorrow, I don't think I'd feel threatened.. I think I'd just feel happy. But hey, maybe that's just me, and the rest of y'all are insane. heh.
NJ's Governor resigned and came out as a gay man all in one press conference. What's Jesse Ventura gonna do to top THAT one?
Somedays, there just isn't enough news to report. (sorry, Mac, I'm gonna make you click the link on that one).
Wouldn't that be wild - show up for your court date and Oprah's on your jury? Martha Stewart's probably wishing that she had such luck...
Freakgirl said it best: I hate him, and I hate his ass-face!
Have an enjoyable day, kids. Ciao!
I think I'm mostly over my car trauma..at least I know how I'm going to fix it. Step one is today - have the garage guys wash it, and buy the wax. I have to keep remembering that I'm saving $400.
What's it going to be called, then? "R" Us? We "R" Us? We "R" Not Selling Toys Anymore?
That Peterson guy just gets scarier and scarier every day.
The worst thing about this is that the coach has been arrested for it four times. After the FIRST time oh, I don't know, maybe FIRE him???
Note to self: don't vote for this guy.
Let's get on with it. Ciao.
First, let me just say this: OH NO! MY CAR! I went down to my garage, and I was horrified to see that Hello-Kitty Saturn has a HUGE white scrape all the way down the passenger door. HUGE. More than just a little ding. Someone literally sideswiped my car!!!!! And, of course, no note, no nothing. Oy.
AND can I tell you that it's 50 degrees this morning? Hello? It's August 11th. They just said on the news, though, that cool Augusts usually preceed mild winters. All I can say is that it had better be 60 degrees on January 11th.
Did I mention: my car?!?!??! Waaaah.
This is funny! Save Mary-Kate... One tee-shirt at a time.
I've thus far resisted temptation, and I'm not watching the Gotti reality show. But maybe I'll have to catch it in reruns.
Did I mention: my car?!?!??! Waaaah.
Dude - this guy is scary-mental.
Ha! 86-year-old Mike Wallace is a tough guy!
Did I mention: my car?!?!??! Waaaah.
You know, I have to say the same thing to men all the time. I feel your pain, sistah.
All together now: EEEEEEEK! Don't invite me to this wedding.
Did I mention: my car?!?!??! Waaaah.
Heh... these separated twins get to look at each other at last, but they're more interested in TV! Typical kids...
So now, I get to have a day of dealing with how to fix my car. (did I mention? someone sideswiped it). I know I'm obsessing about this - and I see my dad coming out in me. He used to dust off his Cadillac with a diaper! There could be NO MARKS on the car! I never thought I'd be that way.. but I am. Coulda been worse, I know. I coulda been in it when it happened. (well worse for whomever did it, because I woulda KICKED THEIR @$$!) So this will be my day. Ciao.
This is a little disturbing. Crossing Vegas off my list of places to go. Someone at work was asking me if I was going anywhere on vacation this summer. It's gotten to the point that, really, everything that I'd do on vacation - sleeping in, reading, shopping, lunching with friends, etc. - I can do right here in my own backyard! I'd rather vacation in my own house. Does that make me boring? I think I got all the traveling out of my system for a while...
RIP Fay Wray.
And I KNOW I've been amiss on this one - RIP, you Superfreak.
It can't be time for another season of American Idol already?
Last night I had to watch a little bit of Monday Night Football! (It was a boring game with an excellent ending). And now summer is really winding down - it's time for the NFL Kickoff Show.
Cheleconfession time: I never, ever watch even one minute of the olympics. Never. See how I am?
This movie is already my most UNfavorite movie of all time. Seriously.
I'm gonna go knit with my home-girls after work - it's the sleeves now, the most boring part. I'll need some inspiration. Have an excellent day! Ciao.
Little known chelefact: I saw Don Ho in a parade in Hawaii. Can you top that?!
Well, no wonder those British are so mellow.
Yes, I've been awake since 4:00, if you were wondering. I'm hoping it's just a result of too much sleeping-in on the weekend, and not the onset of the dreaded change-of-seasons insomnia. I'm going to take advantage of this extra time and throw a load of laundry in before heading off to work. Have a good day - Ciao.
I just had to put this up - I'm done with the front of the sweater:

(you can't see the cool cable twist going up the front.. but it's there.)
I'm going to bed. Buona notte.
Good Ol'CuzBoy and I are going to partake in some mexican fare for lunch (my! so fancy!), and then I'm off to do a little yarn shopping. I'm thinking that a hat made of this yarn would be oh so cool. Or maybe this one. What do you think? Either way - more yarn is a GOOD thing. It's been too long since I made it to all the stores in town, it will be an adventurous - if expensive - afternoon. Ciao!
It's a perfect fair summer day, and Mare and I are relaxing on the lawn at St. Kate's! It's one of those moments you want to take a picture of, put it in your pocket and pull it out on January 6th. Capture a little slice of summer, complete with the smell of fresh-mown grass, a breeze blowing by, and Paul Simon and Suzanne Vega on the iTunes. And then David Cassidy "I Think I Love You" comes 'round on the playlist, totally destroying the moment. :)
My wish for all: Have a moment like this everyday. Life will be sweeter for it.
Ciao.
Yes, indeed. I have a couple more Fridays off, then a whole week off at the end of August, then most of my vacation time is used up. THIS is the way to do it, though. I love my short weeks.
I watch Oprah sporadically. I used to have a TiVo season pass, but sometimes there's just TOO many tears and jerked heartstrings. I confess, though, that I read the magazine religiously. Please don't think I'm a sap...
I had no idea what a nut-ball Bobby Fischer was. Yeah. Let him renounce his citizenship. We don't want him.
Tony Danza is going to host a talk show. All together now: EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEKKKKKKKKK. Thank you.
Excellent. Ray Charles Tribute. (I love Michael McDonald's voice. Gotta go pick some up on iTunes). Speaking of iTunes: I'm on this kinda weird heavy metal streak lately! Not thrash-industrial-just-noise metal.. but Judas Priest, Metallica, Iron Maiden, etc. I raided Mac's iTunes yesterday and grabbed about 40 of them. What can I tells ya? This grrrl's still got it goin' on.
Get well soon, Ron Isley.
This is a nightmare come to life. When I'm on the computer or the phone during a storm, I'm always afraid I'm gonna get zapped.
Going to do some errands, have some lunch, have some playtime. Have an excellent day! Ciao.
Jude said yesterday that she couldn't believe I didn't write about this "love" story. Here goes: EWWWWWWWW. She had a "beautiful relationship" with him? He was in SIXTH GRADE. This love is "eternal and endless"??? Eeeek! Why aren't they keeping her locked up? Ewww. Ewww. Ewwww. Now I'm all grossed out. (eww. again. ewww. maybe I shouldn't have written about this).
Good for Edie Falco. Beating cancer is no small feat! And I love the headline on that story.
I used to watch Stong Medicine (AKA ER for Girls) a lot. The story lines were okay - but it got a little preachy, and a little too much of the "men bad women good" themes. Why not just let everyone be a hero?
I like Norah Jones' first CD. But how about releasing a REAL second CD, instead of just re-hashing "Feels Like Home"? Maybe that's all she's got - maybe there is no second CD in her - but it seems a little lame to just rest on the laurels of the first one.
Gotta go. Have a more than adequate day. Ciao.
Police have the confession. Now lock him up for a loooong time.
Um, I beg your pardon? Most people think of other ways of having a little fun on the job.
Here comes the smoking ban in St. Paul. While it would be nice to go places and come home not reeking for smoke, I worry about what this will do to small business owners.
Shhh! Don't tell me about this... it's on my TiVo!
What I want to know is, who walks around with a CONTAINER of the stuff? What? You keep some with you because you think you might need it? ewwww.
I learned at Stitch & B*tch that sometimes when you put strawberry syrup in a french soda you get this weird looking non-congealing mass that you really CAN'T drink. You just can't go wrong with a brownie, though. :) And I've gotta get some of that Rowan Big Wool. SO beautiful, and knits up so fast. I wish I could go to the other group on Thursday - some of us are gonna go scope it out. I'm expecting a full report! I can't see how any other group could be as fun as we are.
And that, as they say, is that. I was up far too late chatting and the second cup of coffee isn't really helping. Perhaps I need to invest in an espresso machine....
Ciao, Bellas.
Gosh - I had lots of people stop by the old cheleblog yesterday to look at the tunes list. Hi, all you new people! Stop by anytime. I'm this fascinating virtually every day. (HA! fooled all them, didn't I??)
Best line in this story - if we reopen the Statue of Liberty, it shows the world that liberty cannot be intimidated. Indeed. And in this story, New Yorkers vowed not to be defeated by terrorists. If we give in to fear and just stay home, they win.
Do we really need a VH1 movie to tell us the Michael Jackson story? Now that makes me a little afraid.
I missed saying this over the weekend: get well soon, Steve Jobs. Make me more cool gadgets!
Chele's geek-moment of the day: how cool is this? 5 Billion miles, 6 1/2 years from now, we'll be in orbit around Mercury.
Geek moment #2 - radar images of Hurricane Alex. Here ya go:

Gonna go knit with the girls tonight - halfway up the front of the sweater now. It's making me wish for Fall! (I can't believe I just said that..). Have an excellent day. Ciao, Bellas.
I just love Top 10 Days... Go check out these other ones:
RockGrrrl
Sven
k
Brooks
You should go look at Meg's, too... even if she DIDN'T post her list. (awww... but I still loves ya, girl).
Feel free to add your own suggestions. I'm gonna be making some kick-ass playlists for the iPod this week...
Ciao.
Chele's Top 10 Albums
I'm doing my Top 10 Albums, along with some other folks who congregate regularly over at Brooks Blog. I think I'm a little bit older than some of the other folks there (just don't say a word, Dame!... I mean it..), but it's always interesting to read what others are listening to, and to see, too, how my tastes change from year to year (or even day to day).
In no particular order, really - These are the albums that I would have to bring along with me if I was stranded on some deserted island. Or, more likely, some Holiday Inn with no high-speed internet connection, seeing as I hate camping or any other highly adventurous and/or dangerous activities.
1. Indigo Girls by Indigo Girls (1989)
Coincidentally, or not-so-much, contains my favorite song "Closer to Fine". The very first time I heard this album I knew it would always be one of my favorites. No one sings close harmony better than these girls.
2. Tapestry by Carole King (1971)
Someday I want to be able to play the piano like she does.
2.5 (I just had to sneak this on in there) Solitude Standing by Suzanne Vega (1987)
This whole album reminds me of having coffee at the New Uptowner Restaurant. Which is where I spent most of 1987.
3. Liz Phair by Liz Phair (2003)
Who says I only listen to OLD music? Favorites off this album include "Favorite" (the undapantz song) and "Rock Me". Plus, she's hot and yes, I'd go a little gay for her.
4. Skin by Melissa Etheridge (2001)
And someday I want to play the guitar like Melissa Etheridge does. She's the ultimate rocker girl.
5. End of the Innocence by Don Henley (1989)
I like every single song off this album as well. And the lyric that I have printed out and taped to my desk at work? "There are people in your life who've come and gone. They've let you down, you know they've hurt your pride. You better put it all behind you, baby, cuz life goes on. You keep carryin' that anger, it'll eat you up inside." True dat.
6. Tropical Brainstorm by Kirsty MacColl (2001)
I love Mambo de la Luna. I don't know how I missed it on my top 25 songs.
7. Cake and Pie by Lisa Loeb (2002)
I loved this even before the special Hello Kitty version. She's got a sweet voice, which I normally wouldn't like, but somehow it works for her.
8. Sin after Sin by Judas Priest (1977)
Just to prove that even though I'm an old girl, I can still rock with the best of them. Plus, the cover of "Diamonds and Rust" on this album is one of my favorite songs of all time. Just don't tell anyone, okay?
9. So by Peter Gabriel (1986)
"Big Time" makes me laugh, "In Your Eyes" makes me cry. It's the complete range of emotions in one album.
10. Trinity Session by Cowboy Junkies (1988)
I don't know how I missed "Misguided Angel" on my top 10 songs, either. Someday I want to sing like Margo Timmins. I think I remember that this whole album was recorded in a church or something (if I was a little less lazy, I'd look it up for you. Or you can just go look it up for yourselves!) The acoustics on this album are possibly the best ever. If I listen to it long enough, I nearly enter a trance-like state.
And there you have it. This was easier than I thought it would be. In fact, when I sat down and started thinking about it, I came up with 27 albums pretty quickly.
