I meant to put this on here yesterday - Jill Carroll was released on Thursday. There are just a handful of times when you glance at a headline and blurt out "Thank God"... this was one of those times.
What the hell? Mom, Dad and the kids were all just making bombs together? This is some new family-friendly activity that I somehow missed??
I wondered when this would start happening - TSA screeners ripping stuff off from luggage. Next time I get on a plane, man... it's carry-on all day.
Onward, kids. I'm gonna go start the day, so I can FINISH the day and have the weekend. Comportisi, and I'll talk to you later. Ciao.
3/30/06 5:16 AM
Words came outta me yesterday that, two years ago, I never could have imagined. "Mmmm. Quiet evenings are soooo nice." Pasta and a movie. I could do that every single day, I think. Heh. Of course, we'd weigh 4000 pounds each.. so maybe we could alternate the pasta with something slightly less carb-filled. It was wonderful and nummy.
Oh my gosh - there are a million billion birds in the backyard now. This is the first morning I've slept with the window cracked open a bit..and it was like a birdie symphony when I woke up! The transformation is complete. I'll take this over the sounds of traffic any day.
Who IS this girl, and where is the old goofy kooky chele? I like this new chele v3.5 better. She's calmer and happier than the previous version.
More American Idols booted. Wonder how much longer that Ace guy will stay. He was in the bottom 3 again.
Man, this has been a long week already. About two seconds ago I was convinced that it was Friday. Eh, not so much. But hey - I actually believe that it's Spring, and I'm gonna go buy a table for the deck this weekend. Yay! Outside blogging is just around the corner. Time to start the day, peeps. Ciao.
3/29/06 5:10 AM
You know those days when you wake up with a headache like someone has taken a musket gun and blown a hole the size of a softball in the middle of your forehead? And it hurts to even blink your eyes or turn your head the slightest bit? And you can just barely keep your eyes open, so you're glad that you don't have to look at the keyboard when you type? And if you WERE having one of those days you'd use the first paragraph of your blog to write about it?
Yeah...
.... Now it's almost an hour later, and I think that headache's just about gone. I have hella morning to look forward to, and then I'm going to take the afternoon off and play and cook. Just because I can. That's all I've got for now. Ciao Bellas. TiAmo.
3/28/06 5:20 AM
Yesterday was all just a blur. Mondays are like that.. I can't even really go into it with any sort of plan at all. I just turn on the phones and the e-mail and start reacting. The good news is it makes the day literally fly right by. Last night I started winding yarn. I got some really pretty pink wool. I don't know exactly what it's gonna be just yet.. but it'll be nice.
Before I bought my house, I never used to pay a lot of attention to the Federal Reserve and what it did with interest rates. Now I realize it's a big deal. And I'm glad I bought my place when I did, and that I'm not looking to sell it any time soon.
What the hell, man? How did this guy just snap like that, and come in with guns blazing? It's just scary to me that you can't control other's reactions to stuff... and that they can come back and take you out just like that *snaps fingers*. I think I'm never leaving the house again.
And what the hell part two, right here. What made the perfect minister's wife shoot her husband? This one will be interesting to watch.
The screech owl is back! I hear it in the backyard! Does this mean it's really Spring?
Blah blah blah, Kenny Rogers is making a comeback, blah blah. The most interesting thing about it is this - check out the plastic surgery. Oh my lord. I don't think his eyes will shut all the way. That's a little TOO tight, isn't it?
Time to get on with Tuesday, I guess. Here's hoping it's a good one. Sano presto, il ragazzo mio. Ciao.
3/27/06 5:16 AM
So check this out.
I don't know if you've noticed, but Issy-Cat is... well... big-boned is really putting too fine a point on it. He's HUGE. He's fat. He's a kitty of immense proportions. So I decided yesterday at the kitty-food store that we would try one can - ONE can - a SMALL can, at that - of diet kitty food. Not only did Issy turn his nose up at it and walk away.. Maddy-Girl UP-ENDED the bowl and tried to bury it under the kitchen rug. Okay, then. I get the point. We'll go back to the regular Iams beef and ocean fish flavors. No more experimenting.
What the hell, man? Note to self - do not attend "better off undead" rave parties. And why do they always say that murderers were very polite/quiet/this is so out of character? What happens to people? What makes 'em snap like that?
This is absolutely true... you have to plan for every contingency. I learned this a couple years back when I was doing my will/living will/power of attorney. My lawyer's good. She even had me put something in about who the kitties and who would take care of them in mine. Speaking of that - it's been a couple years. I should look at my stuff again and see if anything's changed.
RIP Buck Owens. Okay, I'll admit it. When I was a little kid, I watched Hee-Haw. Hey - I was NINE. I didn't know better!
As always, Bob Bob Bob Bob Bob does a better job of recapping events than I ever could - and he has pictures, too.
Man.. it WAS just Friday. How is it that it gets to be Monday again already? So let's start the new week, then. Have a good day, kidlets. Ciao Bellas.
3/26/06 8:35 AM
Heya. I'm not going to get to write anything right now - so I'll leave this with you to keep you occupied.. It's the Seven Deadlies Meme (from Ms. Jenni):
WRATH
1. Who did you last get angry with?
I had a yell-festival with a VENDOR, of all people. Yeah. They're gonna get a lot of my business again REAL soon. Bitch.
2. What is your weapon of choice?
Oooh, I'm not at all about the handguns or knives weapons. I think words are my best weapons.. I can make people cry with them.
3. Would you hit a member of the opposite sex?
I'm also not much about the hitting, and most people of the opposite sex are a lot bigger than I am, so I'd say no. And I also try to NOT do anything to them that would make them WANT to hit me.
4. How about of the same sex?
While I'd have a better chance at winning a fist fight with a girl... realistically, I probably wouldn't do that either.
5. Who was the last person who got really angry at you?
This stupid vendor. Because yeah, it's smart to YELL AT A CUSTOMER. Idiot.
6. What is your pet peeve?
Oh - we were just talking about this today. People who get in the way! The ones who walk four abreast in the skyways, or park their cart in the middle of grocery store aisles, or block doorways.. Sheesh! Have a little regard for others!
7. Do you keep grudges, or can you let them go easily?
I try not to.. but if some has really, really wronged me, I remember it for a long time. Most times, though, I just get mad and then get over it.
SLOTH
1. What is one thing you're supposed to do daily that you haven't?
Take one of my supplements three times a day. I can only seem to remember to take it twice.
2. What is the latest you've ever woken up?
I'm just NOT a late riser. Once when I was especially tired I slept until about 10:00.. and I felt like I'd wasted the whole day.
3. Name a person you've been meaning to contact, but haven't?
I have to send an e-mail back to JenY. No, I haven't forgotten you! I've just been busy.
4. What is the last lame excuse you made?
See above: "I've just been busy".. Sorry, girl!
5. Have you ever watched an infomercial all the way through?
Oh yes. When I had really bad insomnia a few years back, I watched one stupid Tony Robbins one all the way through about 10 times.
6. How many times did you hit the snooze button on your alarm clock today?
I always hit it just one time.. Long enough for the coffee to finish brewing.
GLUTTONY
1. What is your overpriced yuppie beverage of choice?
White chocolate mochas at Starbucks. Mmmm... mocha..
2. Meat eater?
Oh, yeah. I think it's almost time for another Timberlodge trip!
3. Are you comfortable with your drinking habits?
Yes. I'm a lightweight, which makes me a cheap date. Heh.
4. Do you like candy?
HA! Do I like candy? Is the pope catholic? Does a bear shit in the woods? Are Godiva Truffles not proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy???
5. Do you prefer sweets, salty foods, or spicy foods?
Sweets. No doubt about it.
6. Have you ever looked at a small house pet or child and thought, "lunch"?
Good God, no. What's WRONG with you people?
LUST
1. How many people have you seen naked (not counting movies, family, strippers, locker rooms)?
*thinks* - 5, I think.
2. How many people have seen YOU naked (not counting physicians/family/locker rooms/ or when you were an young child)?
If I've seen 5, then 5 have seen me. Only mutual nakeditity allowed.
3. Have you ever caught yourself staring at the chest/crotch of a person of your chosen sex during normal conversation?
No, I don't do that. I look people in the eye when I'm talking with them.
4. What is your favorite body part on a person of your gender of choice?
I notice eyes first, then hands.
5. Have you ever been propositioned by a prostitute?
No.
GREED
1. How many credit cards do you own?
3.
2. If you had $1 million, what would you do with it?
Pay off my house, buy a car for my ragazzo, take everyone I know on vacation, and then put the rest away.
3. Would you rather be rich, or famous?
Rich, I think. I would hate to not be able to walk down the street or eat at a restaurant without being hassled.
4. Would you accept a boring job if it meant you would make megabucks?
It depends on what it is. If it's something where I could literally just turn my brain off for 8 hours a day and then go home.. and if I could play online while I was doing it - then sure. The rest of my life isn't boring, and I'd have money to play with!
PRIDE
1. What's one thing that you have done that you're most proud of?
I bought my house all on my own, with no help from anyone.
2. What's one thing you have done that your parents are most proud of?
I know that Papa was really proud of me the day I graduated from college.
3. What thing would you like to accomplish later in your life?
I don't know that I have any specific goals right now (climb Mt. Everest, etc.). Mostly, I want to know that I loved my friends, took care of them, and that my life mattered.
4. Do you get annoyed by coming in second place?
Not at all. I'm not a big competition girl.
5. Have you ever entered a contest of skill, knowing you were of much higher skill than all the other competitors?
The one thing that I KNOW I'm insanely good at is the "shoot the water in the clown's mouth" game at the fair. I win EVERY single time. So yes, I know in that one thing I am much more highly skilled than anyone else. Good to know I have something else to fall back on if this whole telecom thing doesn't work out. Heh.
6. Have you ever cheated on something to get a higher score?
Only in the Sims game, and it's not to get a higher score. It's to have unlimited money so I can build a bigger house.
7. What did you do today that you're proud of?
Well, I just got out of bed a while ago, so the day is still young. So far the only thing I've done is make coffee.. but I did a DAMN good job of it! hehe.
ENVY
1. What item of your friends' would you most want to have for your own?
I'm not usually very covetous.. but I'm pretty sure I'd take that cadillac if it was offered to me!
2. Who would you want to go on "Trading Spaces" with?
I love my house! I'm not trading spaces with anyone.
3. If you could be anyone who has existed in the world, who would you be?
I'm glad just being me. I can't imagine being anyone else, or living a different life.
4. Have you ever been cheated on?
Yes. It sucks.
5. Have you ever wished you had a physical feature different from your own?
I wish I was a little bit taller. Then I could use EVERY cabinet in my kitchen.
6. What trait do you see in others that you wish you had for yourself?
The cool thing is that everyone brings different traits to the party, and in the end you end up balancing each other out. Yin and Yang.
I'm heading out for brunch in a while, and then I might have to take a little walk outside. Talk to youse later. Ciao.
3/24/06 5:10 AM
Good Morning, Internet.
I had a mostly good day, until one part of my afternoon went to helena handbasket (read it out loud. heh). Got thru that, went home and RELAXED. Well, I did one load of laundry, but that still counts as relaxing. I finally got to watch American Idol. Chris Daughtry is my new boyfriend, I've decided. This guy can SERIOUSLY SING. His version of "Walk the Line" sent me on a huge internet search and find (I've got it now.. it's in my iTunes. YES!). So a good night, and once more, in bed before 11pm. It's amazing how much better I feel when I SLEEP. Geez. Who knew? It's almost worth the trade-off of the lost hours that I could be doing other stuff. Heh.
When I first read yesterday about the minister that was shot and the family that was missing my first thought was "the wife did it". And here ya go - she's a suspect. Next prediction? He was abusive. I betcha one meeeeellion dollars.
I tried really hard not to comment about this (no politics on cheleblog, after all..), but I just can't keep my mouth shut anymore. Boston's Catholic Charities ENDED its one hundred year old adoption program rather than complying with a state law prohibiting discrimination against gay people adopting children. Deny waiting children the right to good homes, because you have a problem with gay people adopting. Oh, but the whole priests abusing little boys thing? You're okay with all that, and you'll look the other way. F*ckers. Oh. did I say that out loud????? Okay. No more politics on cheleblog, because look what happens, I get all whipped up. Now back to regularly scheduled happiness and smartass commentary.
Note to self - when in Chattanooga, don't call 911 because chances are the call won't get answered. "Well, we was all on a smoke break together..." Eeeka.
Well yikes. I'm fairly certain that ALL my doctors have licenses, and that they're not just faking it. How creepy is this story?
Everything in the news is getting me whipped up this morning. You know, guy, if you have warrants and you want to take yourself out, fine. Leave your kids be. Putz.
Back to happy articles - Here's one about the older (ha! older.. none of them are even 30 yet!) contestants on American Idol. Interestingly, all the older ones are my favorites. They're better performers, I think.
Now YAY! It's the weekend (well, in 8 or so working hours). Saturday is baking day, which is always more fun when you get to GAB and bake. Brunching Sunday, and, oh, a bunch of other stuff in between I'm sure. Comportisi, Bellas, and I'll talk to you later. Ciao.
3/23/06 5:06 AM
There's something incredibly comforting about old familiar restaurants. Walk in the door, and it's like coming home again. I couldn't love that more. Couldn't love the food more, either. Mmmmm... carbs.
I'm just this way - I like knowing who's getting booted off American Idol before I actually watch the show. It's the whole 'knowing how things end' thing. I'm relieved that that kid is off there. There's no way he could have won.. so let's get down to the real competition.
I haven't watched South Park yet either.. but it looks like a save-it-for-a-while episode. Hehehe.
I wonder if this WAS a totally accidental slip of the tongue, or if he meant to say that. If it was accidental.. well, yeah, I guess he still had to be let go.. but it's too bad. If you're going to make your living using your words, you aren't allowed a lot of room for error.
And that's it! Time to get to work. I keep thinking that it's Friday - sigh. One more day. Talk to you later. Ciao.
3/22/06 5:06 AM
Wow. How much did I have to drink last night, anyway??? Heh. I vaguely remember tossing myself into bed at about 9:30. I didn't turn the heaters on before doing that.. because I woke up this morning and it's about 60 degrees in here. brrrrr. Even the cats didn't want to get out of bed. I dragged the blanket out here onto the couch with me, and we're all wrapped up inside it.
Check this out - they went to take a two hour trip, and they were missing for TWO WEEKS?? Something's just not right there..
Today is William Shatner's birthday! Happy Birthday.... Denny Crane. (okay.. that's only funny if you watch Boston Legal. And if you don't watch it - well - you should. because it's damn funny.)
Gotta run. Hope your day is the best ever! Ciao Bellas.
3/21/06 5:09 AM
I was crabby-girl yesterday afternoon. Fine all morning, but then I let some stuff get to me, and I just gave in to the crabbiness. I hate that. I was whiny and petulant and horrid. Bleah. I took it out on the people most important to me.. and I'm sorry for that. Then I came home and baked cookies, because flour, vanilla, sugar and egg cures almost everything. There's something very comforting and centering to me about folding ingredients together and pulling cookie sheets in and out of the oven. The house smells good, and I get to bring little foil-wrapped plates of love to my peeps. As il ragazzo says, it's a win-win. Today will be better.
Chef's back! Or... someone PLAYING Chef is back. **runs to set DVR to catch Wednesday's episode of South Park**
I did finally watch Grey's Anatomy last night while the cookies were baking. I'm so glad she dumped Alex. He's a putz. (remember, chele.. it's just pretend.)
Okay. Let's just get this day started, and hope for the best. TiAmo, Bellas. Ciao.
3/20/06 5:05 AM
It always comes back around to Monday, doesn't it? The weekend was busy and productive, though. The vanity just couldn't have turned out better. And the post-painting clean-up turned into a HUGE cleaning festival, so everything's back in order again.
Yikes. Cyclone Larry just hit Australia. Although "Larry" isn't a particularly scary-sounding name.
This is sad... striking the balance between providing for everyone, but yet still managing the business and keeping the doors open and the lights on.
The key words in this story, about a man being bitten in the arm by a TIGER: "The man was drunk...." Sheesh. Just don't be putting your arm in the cage. Just.. don't.
Michael's is considering selling itself off. This would have been huge news for me 10 years ago or so.
It's 5:45, and it's already starting to get light outside. Welcome Springtime! Talk to you later. Ciao, Bellas.
3/19/06 9:22 AM
Good day, ya big Mooks.
It was all painting, alla time yesterday afternoon. The vanity/sink hallway is now Hush Pink.. which is not nearly as obnoxious nor precious as it sounds. It lightens up that whole space, and it's much more chele-like now. The taping was the worst part - it took forever. That one tiny space has TWO doorways, a mirror, a vanity and about four thousand outlets and switchplates. Well, I exaggerate.. but only a little. Heh. The first coat is done, and it covered fairly well, but I'm chele.. so I have to put two coats on everything. The joys of OCD.. I tell ya. It'll be done this morning.
A few newsy things -
I don't know how I feel about this guy being able to donate a kidney. The first thing I thought of was the guy who tried to pull this ("I need to donate a kidney to my sick kid") and escaped.. (or did he just try to escape? I don't remember). Anyway..
I'm not a smoker.. I haven't smoked for years. This scares me. If they can ban smoking in all public places, what ELSE can they ban? Cell phones? Sweatshirts? Saying certain words? Certain PEOPLE? Where does it end? (this is getting dangerously close to the "no politics on cheleblog" rule... so now I'll stop.)
Why is this a news story? Maybe it IS a slow news day...
Time to pick up the brushes and start painting again. Have a quality day! Ciao, Bellas.
3/18/06 8:33 AM

Oh, that's too much pressure. No naming names! Do it if you want to!
Andiamo! Have a good day. Ciao.
3/17/06 5:19 AM
Oh, we ate so well. I have a big spaghetti hangover this morning.. I love that. Mmmm...carbs. I was bored with all my current music, so we clicked through a bunch of stuff. And now I have about a million - or 60 - new iTunes to get me busy for a while. 'Twas nice. Sometimes a good evening like that can seem like a mini vaca to get you through to the end of the week.
You know, kids, that's all I've got so far this morning. I don't think I feel like click through the news just yet. Here's a little something to keep you busy this morning - go take this fun personality quiz. It takes a while, but mine was pretty accurate. I'm an "encouraging visionary". Cool. I can handle that. Mouse over the colors, and it shows the characteristics.
I hope you have an excellent day. Ciao, Bellas.
3/16/06 5:07 AM
Enough now. Enough snow. See, we barely had any this winter.. we thought we were gonna get away with something. But ohhhh, noooooo... woke up today to STORM OF THE CENTURY.. PART DEUX. I glanced at the news, and it doesn't sound as bad as Monday. Still. I'm plenty ready for Spring. Aren't you ready to just play outside?
Of course, then I read stories like this one and I don't want to leave the house...
I still have both these episodes on the Tivo, so I haven't watched.. but even after last week, it doesn't suprise me that she was cut from American Idol.
Busy day ahead, and then comfort food dinner and general relaxing and sitting tonight. It's been a tough week. No need to list all the details here, and my health is just great, so don't worry about that. Every once in a while you have to go thru the rough patches, and then you're reminded of just how GOOD the good is. All will be well. And spaghetti cures just about everything. Ciao, amici. TiAmo.
3/15/06 5:10 AM
I will tell you the story of my lunchtime adventure yesterday. Il Ragazzo and I were walking thru the Crystal Court on the way to lunching yesterday, and you could hear ice and snow falling onto the roof - which is all glass (hence the name). It was LOUD.. loud enough that people were flinching and looking upwards. After lunch we headed back - and they'd actually closed off parts of the Court. We stood, along with everyone else, looking up and waiting for the sky to fall. (but we were standing under a ledge, so nothing would actually fall on us. He's careful that way. And pretty smart, too.) It was non-stop noise.. like popcorn popping! Driving home last night, I noticed that most of the taller buildings had closed off their sidewalks and huge chunks of ice littered both sidewalks and streets. Gah. I hate winter.
And buh-bye Mike Wallace as well. Holy cow - he's 87 years old.
I missed that Christine show. Did anyone see it? Any good? I was cleaning Monday night, so I wasn't in front of the TV. Although I did glance at that stupid "Deal or No Deal" again.. (hangs head in shame). WHY do I watch that? Dumbest. Show. Ever.
Here. Let me give you this BILLION dollar bill to pay for my burrito, please. I'll take my change in 10s and 20s. Really... are there people out there stupid enough to fall for that?? And if they are - well - maybe they DESERVE to fall for it. Sheesh.
Three words: What. The. Hell. You might want to re-think your career choice, there.
And then there are stories like this one, that make you think that there might be hope after all.
I went to bed at a completely reasonable hour last night, and I feel like a whole new girl, I tell ya. There might BE something to this more-than-four-hours a night sleeping thing. Tonight that probably won't happen, because I have a go-jillion things to do..but every once in a while it's nice. And there ya have it. That's all what I know. Have a most excellent day. Comportisi, amici, and I'll talk to you tomorrow. Ciao.
3/14/06 5:04 AM
Okay. It WAS a big old storm. Blech. It wasn't horrid driving, but it wasn't good, either. And did I mention the FOOT of snow on my deck? Guess I should be thankful that that's all the shoveling I have to do. And now that we've gotten that out of the way, could it be Spring now?
There were about 10 people at work when I got there yesterday. It made for a nice quiet morning. I took some stuff home and bailed at about 2:00. Every once in a while, I have to do that just to get some stuff DONE without interruption. Then it was cleaning and scrubbing time.. I attacked the kitchen and bathroom with a vengence. Everything smelled like bleach and cleaner when I was done. Mmmm... clean... Heh. I have to stop at my favorite hardware store on the way home tonight. My bathtub drain is ALL slow. I need to find out what I can pour down there to get it cleared out. The Home Depot man always knows how to fix everything.
Okay, guys. è tutto for now. Have a good day. Ciao.
3/13/06 5:20 AM
Okay, well, it IS the storm of the century. Well, the storm of the winter anyway. They're saying about 4"-6" so far. The one thing that's tough about where I live now is that I don't see any streets, just that darn NATURE thing.. so I can't tell what the drive might be like. The TV news/weather/traffic people are having a field day with it. They keep showing the traffic cams and cars are moving, though, so I'm guessing it will be slow but fine.
Okay. I've gotta go. I hate winter, did I mention that? Heh. Have a more-than-adequate day. Ciao.
3/12/06 10:08 AM
Oh, let's just talk about the Auto Show for a minute. We had the best and greatest time ever, and tried on LOTS of cars for size. I found my dream convertible:
It's a Saturn Sky, it's a cheleCar, and I NEED it.
Then we found a slightly more expensive (but faster and WAY cool) for my Favorite Ragazzo:
Oh, and I wanted this one too:
It's a Jaguar. And it SCREAMS luxury. And it goes FAST. Does anyone have an extra $75K around that they can give me? Please?
Again, it's supposed to be the STORM OF THE CENTURY tonight. Whatever. I saw robins in my tree off the deck yesterday. I don't care what those stupid meteorologists say. It's Spring. I'm gonna go knit and dream about fast cars now. Have an excellent day, Bellas. Ciao.
3/11/06 7:41 AM
It's AUTO SHOW DAY! Whoop! Nothing better than looking at all those shiny new cars. Well, okay, the company is nice, too   ::grin::
GrocGirl and I had medicinal shoppin' time at the Mall of the Universe last night. It was a successful trip - we even found stuff at H&M, which hardly ever happens. Walked miles of aisles at DSW.
Let's do a quick iPod shuffle and then I'm outta here. Here's the random 5 for today:
Rock Me to Sleep - Jill Sobule
Center Stage - Indigo Girls
Legend in Your Own Time - Carly Simon
No Reply at All - Genesis
Favorite - Liz Phair
Over the Rainbow - IZ
My goal today is to NOT come home with a convertible! Wish me luck. Have a good day, peeps. Ciao.
3/10/06 4:49 AM
Goodest morning. I feel better x 10. The kitties don't know what to make of this. I didn't get up early yesterday, so they had to bug me. Then I was home all day, disrupting their little kitty-routines. Then I went to bed early - before they did. Now this morning, I'm awake and THEY aren't ready to get up yet. Heh. It's part of my master-plan to drive them crazy! Hmmm. Perhaps it's good that I will be out amongst the REAL people again today....
Remember when I asked before how low Bush's approval rating good go? Well - it could go this low.. and probably even lower.
I admit it - I'm totally, completely hooked on American Idol this year. I don't have a clear favortie yet. Maybe that one guy who channels Michael McDonald and Joe Cocker, though. He's fun to watch.
Good God. Nice bus driver! You miss your stop, kid.. well, too bad.. Eeek. Fire her and then some.
BobBobBobBob pointed out to me that I neglected to talk about the big night of FUN last Saturday, so I need to correct that right now. He covered the whole event in great detail, complete with pictures.
And just one more thing: Happy Birthday, Papa. Siete il padre migliore nel mondo intero e li manco ogni giorno. Ti Amo.
3/9/06 5:30 PM
Bleah, I'm sick yet again. By the time I went to bed last night I was all fevered up, and achey and had the worst throat ever. I was still like that this morning, but I'm finally starting to feel better. I even had some cereal and toast.. so I think I'm probably going to live to see another day. I don't know one other thing.. so I'm going to get back on the couch. Talk to you tomorrow. Ciao.
3/8/06 5:31 AM
The Wild game was awesome, even if we did lose 3-2 in OT. We got to see a lot of hockey, eat oh-my-god fabulous food, and drink a slighty-more-than adequate amount, all on someone else's dime. It IS wonderful to be spoiled.
I woke up this morning with the sore throat of death (well, actually I woke up with that yesterday morning as well.. but I was trying to ignore it yesterday). I let myself "sleep in" until 5:15, but the kitties were having no part of that. The minute the first alarm goes off, they know that the food should soon follow.
I know that there's other news out there, but I'm still too groggy to go dig any up for you, and besides, my shoulder really hurts too. Yep. I'm all full of the complainings this morning. So I'm going to drink tea to see if that makes all things better. Oh, and I'm going to go check out the Auto Show website, so I can start obsessing about - er - dreaming about all the shiny new cars. Heh.
È tutto. Have a good day. Ciao.
3/7/06 5:00 AM
Good morning, peoples of the internet. You would be surprised at how good I'm getting at the darts thing. Why, I'd say that about 30% of the time that I aim, I actually HIT that for which I am aiming! I won a couple of games. So now I'm getting the bug. I actually want to buy my own set instead of using bar darts. Hmm. Wonder if I can get pink ones..
The biggest news around here is the death of Kirby Puckett. Even if you aren't a baseball fan (which I'm not), if you live in Minnesota you know who Kirby Puckett is. I cheered right along with everyone else when he hit that homer in that World Series game. He WAS baseball to many people. Such a great loss. Touch 'em all, Kirby. RIP.
And This. Oh. My. God. THIS. The governor of South Dakota signed a law yesterday banning most abortions. No politics on cheleblog... but... I am absolutely without words about this. You know, guy - whatever your name is - Mike Rounds: the day you HAVE a uterus and can bear children.. the day YOU might have to decide whether or not YOU YOURSELF may or may not want to terminate YOUR OWN pregnancy: THAT is the day you get to tell me what to do with MY BODY.    ***grrrrr***     We now return to regular cheleblog stuff.
John Travolta is going to play Edna Turnblad in Hairspray. From the looks of things, he's already bulking up for the part. Holy Cow. Have another samich, John. Or maybe not.
I've never watched one second of Project Runway. Is it any good?
I have asthma (and yeah, yeah, I know that having the two kitties doesn't help.. but hey - they're the KITTIES. How could I not have them??). I was going to ask my doctor about going on this Advair stuff, but now I think I'll just wheeze a little more and go with what I'm on now. I don't think the stuff I'm taking now will kill me.
The good news is that tonight is hockey Hockey HOCKEY! W00T. Truthfully, I don't care whether we win or lose.. we have EXCELLENT club level seats, and it'll be fun to just be there. Yay! I hope your day is just as good. Ciao.
3/6/06 5:09 AM
I was being all sociable and chatty cathy online last night, and at one point said "wow, it's midnight and I'm not even one bit tired yet. This is bad." Yes, indeed, that was bad. I'm MORE than tired this morning.
I did actually turn the Oscars on at one point during the evening. I saw Three 6 Mafia sing, and then accept their award. It was actually kind of cute.. they were definitely the most EXCITED people I saw on the stage. Some other noteworth items:
I laughed out loud when I heard Jon Stewart's line: "I do have some sad news to report. Bjork couldn't be here tonight. She was trying on her Oscar dress and Dick Cheney shot her". Bwah ha. Reese Witherspoon was very sweet when she accepted her award.
It's cool that Ang Lee won for best director, but in the end, Crash won over Brokeback Mountain. Maybe everyone was right - We don't want cowboys to be gay.
Interesting news for my industry, and I agree.. this seems to go a long way towards putting the old "Ma Bell" back together again.
I'm all busy again, it seems. I have stuff 4 out of 5 nights this week. I don't know how to get good at NOT running around. After all, I might miss something, somewhere if I stay home. Heh.
That's all I know so far. Go read the big long meme from yesterday if you haven't done that yet. I will talk to youse all domani. Ciao.
3/5/06 9:36 AM
It's spitty/sleety/snowy out there, and I'm inside drinking coffee and doing memes. Here we go!

Hmmm **thinks** My right leg and my right hip hurt, but they always hurt (it's that chronic pain thing from my injury) and I'm just used to that now. But thanks for reminding me that they DO hurt, because now I'm gonna think about that for a while. Heh.
How much cash do you have on you right now?
Since I don't carry a lot of cash in my pajamas, normally - none. I think there's about $20 in my wallet. Note to self - get cash.

3/4/06 1:14 PM
My new favorite movie of all time is Grease. For this week, anyway. I was possibly the last person on earth who hadn't yet seen it (well, no, Earl hadn't seen it either). I knew the entire soundtrack, however, so I had to sing along with the entire movie. I'm sure everyone there loved that. I loved it so much, my friend GAVE me the DVD at the end of the night. Truly sah-weet. After Grease, we watched West Side Story. While it too is one of my favorites, it doesn't have quite the same energy... so the evening ended on a more somber note. Still, I was able to sit thru two entire feature length films. Ya gotta give me some props for that.
I'm starting out slow today.. don't feel the greatest right now. Sometimes I just have to yarp for no apparent reason. More than you probably wanted to know, but this is MY page, and I get to say what I want. Heh. I'm re-purpling my hair right now (and how DARE those Garnier people take my favorite color away. It'll be interesting to see what color this turns out to be. I think it's a little dark...), and then the only other big chore of the day is to clean out my piggy-sty of a car. Too much junk in there. Then I'll have the garage-guys wash it on Monday and I'll be feeling much better about car-life.
So there you have it. It's not much, but it's my exciting little day. Is yours more action packed? Then tell me about it! Talk to you later, Bellas. Ciao.
3/3/06 5:05 AM
Holy Hannah. The week's flown by, but yet it seems like YEARS since last Friday vacation day.
Okay, seriously.. they just need to shut this thing down. It's way more trouble than its worth.
Oh. My. God. What the HELL is this??? I can't believe stuff like this still actually happens.
EEEEK. I've been reading about Gary Glitter, and how he was found guilty. I hadn't seen a picture of him for about 20 years though. Again - EEEEEK.
I'm absolutely hooked on American Idol once again, I'm ashamed to say. I've figured out that the way to watch it is not live, but to TiVo it. I can just watch the performances and what the judges have to say, and skip all the other hoo-ha. I didn't watch last night's show yet, but I could have guessed that these 4 would have been eliminated.
This just makes me sadder than sad - RIP Jack Wild. I was sooooo in LUV with him when he was on HR Pufnstuf.
So let's go do this work thing for one more day this week, and then I get to sleep in a little bit tomorrow. Have a good day, kids. Ciao.
3/2/06 5:01 AM
I'm not in a mood to go look at the news today. I'll throw a meme out there for you:
1) Where did you graduate from and what year?
Derham Hall High School - Before it was Cretin-Derham Hall.
2) Did you have school pride?
Yes. It's still cool to say that I went there.
3) Was your prom a night to remember?
Yes, both of them. More than coupling up - a big group of us all went together. Did church beforehand (after all, we were good Catholic kids..plus it was fun to go to church in our formalwear), dinner, the dance, parties at everyone's houses afterwards, then breakfast the next morning and I think we went tubing down the Apple River the next afternoon. It was a marathon.
4) Do you own all 4 Yearbooks?
I sure do. And I helped produce the junior and senior year ones.
5) What was the worst trouble you ever got into?
I was a good kid.. All of my friends and I were. I don't ever remember getting into trouble at school. Now, at home... I had a little trouble hitting that curfew right on time...
6) What kind of people did you hang out with?
We were the good kids - on the yearbook committee, played guitar at school masses, did backstage at theater, glee club, language club, etc.
7) What was your number 1 choice of College in HS?
St. Kate's, and that's where I went.
8) What radio station did you rock out to?
I think it KDWB and WLOL.
9) Were you involved in any organizations or clubs?
See above - glee club, spanish club, yearbook, campus ministry, I'm sure there were others..
10) What were your favorite classes in high school?
Spanish, Shakespeare, and kind of writing class, glee club.
11) Who was your big crush in Highschool?
Oh my gosh. I can't remember his name. But he was sooooo dreamy, and all I wanted was to go sit on the hill with him. What the HELL was his name, anyway?? heh.
12) Would you say you've changed a lot since highschool?
Well, I'm an adult now... I hope I'm not quite so drama-based.
13) What do you miss the most about it?
I miss the group of kids I hung out with. For as close as we were in high school, we'd really drifted apart by the end of freshman year at college. I haven't seen any of them in years and years.
14) Your worst memory of HS?
Some mean girls punked me sophmore year. I'll never forget how hurt I was.
15) Did you have a car?
Nope. I drove mom's big white stationwagon with the wood trim on the sides.
16) What were your school colors?
Officially they were maroon and grey, even though our uniforms were black and white. I think not long after I graduated they changed the school colors to b/w.
17) Who were your fav. teachers?
Wow - I don't remember many names, except Miss Gray (religion), Miss Dunwiddie (spanish), Mrs. Casey (glee club), Mrs. Dokken (shakespeare).
18) Did you own a cell phone in highschool?
Um... those weren't invented just yet. Heh!
19) Did you leave campus for lunch?
In 10th and 11th grade, we had open lunch where you could be gone from school between 11:00 - 1:00. In 12th grade we had open campus, where you could be gone from school anytime during the day if you didn't have classes. We were on a modular schedule.. very progressive for that time.
20) If so, where was your fav. place to go eat?
I don't remember a single place we used to go. Probably Bridgeman's, because that was close...
21) Were you always late to class?
Never.
22) Did you ever have to stay for Saturday School?
We didn't have it. But I never had to stay after school, either. I just never got in trouble.
23) Did you ever ditch?
Only once, on the unofficial-official Senior Skip Day. And my parents knew about it. See? I told ya I was a geeky good kid.
24) What kind of Job did you have?
My first job was a nurse's aid (glorified candy striper - except I remember working on the locked floor and helping pass meds!) at a convent nursing home.
25) When it comes time for the reunion will you be there?
I went to my 10 year, and I don't think we've had one since! None that I remember hearing about, anyway. I'd probably go to the next one. And no, I'm not going to tell you what number it is, so don't ask. Heh.
26) Do you wish you were still in high school?
God, no.
Andiamo. Have a good day. Ciao.
3/1/06 5:07 AM
Good morning. And all that. It was not a particularly good day yesterday. In fact, it fairly sucked. A little bit of quesadilla and cherry coke goes a long way towards fixing the bad, though. Grazie, ragazzo.
Blah blah blah. Everyone sues everyone. He STILL isn't that funny.
Ahhhhhh... Dr. McDreamy. He's my secret plays a doctor on TV boyfriend.
It was supposed to be the FREEZING RAIN STORM OF THE CENTURY this morning. And, well, not-so-much. I'm sick of these weather people. So I'm gonna get my little self in to work and see how the day progresses today. May yours be more than adequate. Ciao, Bellas.
